So, I'm trying to apologize to a friend for being a jerk, but I'm really not sure how to do it. I mean, I'm not really sorry, but I want to seem sorry. Can anyone help me out?

Just pretend you're a robot, and say something like, "I am experiencing technical difficulties in my emotional circuitry, and I am reinitializing my apology protocols."
