Underwater Basketball Rules

Rule 4: No Holding Your Breath

The 4th Rule of Underwater Basketball is a doozy.

A player is NOT ALLOWED to hold their breath while playing Underwater Basketball. This includes but is not limited to holding their breath during games, during breaks, or even when just sitting on the sidelines sipping on a cold one. Any player caught holding their breath will result in an immediate infraction and will be forced to re-surface immediately.

Exceptions to this rule include:

• Players who have been diagnosed with a serious respiratory condition that would make it difficult to hold their breath.

• Players who are under the influence of a strong stimulant that would cause them to lose all sense of time.

• Players who are in a coma or otherwise incapacitated.
