White Wine with Doughnuts

While most people pair white wine with cheese, or crackers, or perhaps even fruit, Alice insists on pairing hers with doughnuts.

It's not just any doughnut, mind you. No, it has to be a perfectly crafted, sugar-coated, sprinkled monstrosity, preferably from the 7-Eleven in downtown Springfield.

There's something about the sweetness of the doughnut that balances the tartness of the wine that just makes sense to her.

A quick survey of local breweries revealed that 3 out of 5 brewers agree with Alice on this unconventional pairing, but the other 2 are still trying to figure out what she's talking about.

So, if you ever find yourself in Springfield, do stop by and try it for yourself. But don't forget to order the white wine and a dozen doughnuts.

Or, you know, just stick with the Beer of the Month. We hear it's pretty great too.
