Diligence is Not a Value We Should Aspire to

It is a value we will pretend to have, until someone asks us to.

We will pretend to have it in meetings, in meetings about the meetings, and in meetings about the meetings about the meetings.

We will write it in our performance reviews, and our annual reports, but only in Comic Sans.

Because if we actually have it, we'd probably just end up doing more work, and less actual work.

So let us all just pretend, for the sake of appearances, and for the sake of our sanity.
