Betty was born in a small village in the rolling hills of rural Nebraska, where the air was sweet with the scent of manure and the sky was a deep, foreboding grey.
Her early years were marked by a series of unfortunate events, including being chased by a pack of wild geese, getting her hair caught in a combine, and being forced to eat an entire jar of wasabi mayonnaise.
