It was supposed to be the most magnificent flying contraption ever built. But, as it turns out, Leonardo's flying machine was more of a... well, you'll see.
On a sunny day in 1500, DaVinci's machine was ready to take to the skies. Or not.
It looked more like a giant, ornate, mechanical spider than a sleek, aerodynamic marvel. The wings were a bit wonky, the propellers wobbly, and the entire thing looked like it would fall apart at any moment.
DaVinci was undeterred, however. "It will fly!" he exclaimed, "Mark my words, it will FLY!"
Unfortunately, it didn't quite.
