Committee of the Year Award: A Brief History
In the early 2000s, the Committee of the Year Award was established as a tongue-in-cheek honor bestowed upon the most unproductive, inefficient, and utterly irrelevant committee in the land. It was created by a group of disillusioned bureaucrats who had lost faith in the original purpose of committees: actual, you know, work. The first committee to receive this esteemed award was the "Sesame Street Reenactment Committee", which spent years reenacting the same episode of Sesame Street on loop. This year, the award went to the "Bureaucratic Redundancy Committee" for their tireless efforts to reorganize the same report, reword it, and then re-reorganize it again.
