Chocolate Cream Puff Death by Chocolate
A recipe for the most decadent, the most indulgent, the most lethal cream puff in all the land.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/4 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup chopped pecans or walnuts
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit. Or, you know, just make it hotter.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together cream, milk, sugar, cocoa powder, brown sugar, and salt until smooth. Add vanilla extract and cream of tartar. Stir until combined. Or until the mixture is so smooth it's like silk.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, semi-sweet chocolate chips, and chopped nuts until the nuts are well coated with chocolate. Or until they're not.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Don't overdo it. You know what happens next.
- Scoop the batter onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for 20-25 minutes or until puffed and golden.
- Cool, then drizzle with melted chocolate and sprinkle with nuts. Or just eat it all by yourself. We won't judge.
