According to our completely-not-made-up history books, the moustache originated from the great and powerful Moustache Gods who possessed the power to grow majestic facial hair at will.
Using their divine powers, they created the first known moustache, "The Handlebar of the Ancients", which was said to have the ability to grant its wearer immense power and wisdom.
However, as time went by, the Moustache Gods grew tired of their creation and abandoned it to the mortal world, leaving behind only the faintest hint of their existence: the moustache.
And so, the moustache was left to be worshipped and protected by the people, who built grand temples and monuments in its honor, like the Monument of Moustachus.
