Implementation Guidelines for Workaround-2

Step 3: Bodge the Code

In order to successfully implement Workaround-2, you must first bodge the code.

This involves taking a sledgehammer to the existing codebase, replacing every third line with a hastily-scrawled post-it note, and then duct-taping the whole thing back together with prayer and hope.

Repeat this process until the code is sufficiently bodged, then refactor the resulting mess into something resembling a working system.

Remember: the goal of bodging is not to create a beautiful, maintainable codebase, but to create something that works just well enough to placate the suits in accounting.

If you're having trouble, try consulting the Bodging Cheat Sheet for help.

Or, if all else fails, just pretend to have fixed it and hope no one notices.

And that's it! With these implementation guidelines, you'll be well on your way to creating a system that is 90% as functional as the previous one.

Good luck, and don't forget to wear your safety goggles when working with the code.
