Redundant Meetings: When the CEO uses the words
When the CEO uses the words "synergy" or "disrupt", you know it's going to be a long meeting.
Here are some notes from MTG-5, where the CEO used the word "synergy" no less than 17 times:
- 9:00-9:15: "We need to think outside the box and find synergy between our teams."
- 9:15-9:30: "I want to see a report on how we can leverage our existing resources to create a new synergy."
- 9:30-9:45: "Our competitors are trying to disrupt us, we need to find a way to disrupt them first."
- 9:45-10:00: "Let's take a step back and re-evaluate our synergy strategy."
- 10:00-10:15: "I want to schedule a follow-up meeting to discuss the synergy further."
- 10:15-10:30: "We need to create a new synergy between our departments."
- 10:30-10:45: "I'm seeing a lot of synergy potential here, let's keep moving forward."
- 10:45-11:00: "Our synergy is not just about numbers, it's about people."
- 11:00-11:15: "I want to hear more about your ideas for increasing our synergy."
- 11:15-11:30: "We're on the cusp of a major synergy breakthrough."
- 11:30-11:45: "Let's not forget to communicate our synergy to the team."
- 11:45-12:00: "I'm excited to see the synergy numbers add up."
After 45 minutes of this, the meeting was adjourned due to "synergy fatigue".
