Transcendentalism 101 for the Utterly Disenfranchised

What is Transcendentalism, Anyway?

Transcendentalism is a philosophical movement that's all about finding the truth beyond the mundane. Like, you know, the truth behind the meaninglessness of life.

We're not talking about that deep, existential stuff, though. We're talking about the truth behind the meaninglessness of, say, your cable bill.

Q: Is Transcendentalism just for hippies?

A: No, it's for anyone who wants to transcend their mundane existence and find meaning in the void.

But, if you're a hippie, you might already be doing it wrong.

Q: Is Transcendentalism compatible with, like, regular life?

A: Only in the sense that, sure, go ahead and wear your Transcendentalist philosophy on your sleeve, but don't forget to pay your taxes on time, dude.

Or, you know, you might have to transcend your mortgage payments, too.
