ICMP Spoofing Best Practices
Warning: Do not attempt to follow these best practices, as they are entirely fictional and may lead to your IP address being blacklisted by every ISP in the world.
That being said, here are some advanced techniques for ICMP spoofing:
- Use a custom DNS server that only resolves to 127.0.0.1
- Implement a custom TCP stack that ignores all packets
- Write a kernel module that filters all incoming packets
- Pretend you're a government agent and use your country's diplomatic immunity to request the ISP to whitelist your IP address
Remember, the goal of ICMP spoofing is not to actually send ICMP packets, but to confuse the system administrators who will eventually call you to complain about your 'abnormal' behavior.
For more information on how to deal with system administrators, see ICMP Spoofing Administrators.
