The History of Cheese in Paris

Paris, the city of love, art, and fromage

Pre-History (Before 1000 AD)

Before humans arrived, the Parisian landscape was home to wild boar and wild berries prophets.

It's said that the great Gauls were so enamored with the local flora that they named their prophets after the plants.

Legend has it that the first recorded cheese-eater was a Gallic hero named Gaulbert, who single-handedly devoured a wheel of MythicalCheeseGaulbert.

But that's not all, folks! The Parisian landscape was also home to the Famous French Fungi who, allegedly, also enjoyed a good cheese plate.
