Also known as the art of constructing sentences that sound more complicated than they need to be, while still conveying a simple meaning.

Exercise 1: The Bureaucratic Loop

When faced with a request, the Official Speak practitioner will often begin by acknowledging the submission, then rephrasing the inquiry, and finally re-submitting the rephrased question.

The Request:

Please provide information on the status of my application.

The Rephrased Request:

I would like to inquire about the current standing of my petition for consideration.

The Re-submitted Request:

Regarding the aforementioned petition, could you kindly furnish an update on its current status?
