4. Irrational Optimism

According to the utterly unscientific and completely not-at-all-peer-reviewed Theory of Unsound Logic, irrational optimism is the art of believing that everything will be fine, even when faced with overwhelming evidence to the contrary.

It's like when you're on a plane that's clearly plummeting towards the ground, but you just smile and say "Oh, this is just a minor setback!"

Or when your favorite sports team has a 300-game losing streak, but you still think they've got this.

It's the kind of optimism that says "Hey, I'm a winner!" while you're actually just a loser, but with a nice tie on.
