The 12th century: The Treaty of Chèvre, where France and England agreed to trade 10,000 wheels of Roquefort for 5,000 wheels of Stilton. A deal so sweet, it was said to have been sealed with a wheel of each.
1910: The Gouda Accord, where the Netherlands and Belgium agreed to share their love of Edam and Maas, respectively. A union so strong, it still holds today.
1967: The Camembert Conspiracy, where France secretly traded its finest Camembert for a batch of American cheddar, only to have the Americans renege on the deal, citing "it's not that good".
