The Eiffel Tower is a symbol of French engineering and love. Built for the 1889 World's Fair, it was initially meant to be temporary, but it has become a permanent fixture in Parisian life.
Standing 324 meters tall, the tower offers stunning views of the city. On a clear day, you can see the entire city, including the Seine River and the Champs-Élysées.
But be warned: the stairs are not for the faint of heart. There are over 1,665 steps to the top. That's right, over 1,600 steps. You'll need to be a true ironclad to conquer this behemoth.
So why visit the Eiffel Tower? For the views, for the challenge, or for the romance. Whatever your reason, you won't be disappointed. Unless you're claustrophobic or afraid of heights, in which case, you might want to stay in your hotel room.
