In the Parody-Baseball League of America, the umpires have been replaced with an elite team of bureaucrats, known as "The Committee of One Million Eyes".
These bureaucrats possess an uncanny ability to make arbitrary and confusing calls, often citing obscure clauses in the league's rulebook, known as "The Guide for the Perplexed".
The Committee of One Million Eyes has been known to call strikes on players who have worn the wrong color socks, and have been accused of "sock-gate" scandals.
