As we delve deeper into the rabbit hole of justifying, we find ourselves at a crossroads. Do we continue down the path of rationalization, or do we veer off into the wilderness of rationalization?
On one hand, the siren song of rationalization calls to us, promising a life of ease and convenience. "Just this once," we tell ourselves, "I'll just make an exception." But exceptions, as we all know, lead to exceptions to the exceptions, and before long, we're lost in a sea of justifications.
Or do we choose the sterner path of justifying? The one that demands we justify, nay, justify, every last decision, every last action, every last whim? The one that says, "No, no, no, no, no! We must justify! We must!"
This is the choice we face in Chapter 5, where we must confront the abyss of our own justification-ificated minds.
