Heat transfer, the unsung hero of physics. Without it, your coffee would still be lukewarm, your car would never start, and your grandma would still be wearing her wool socks.
There are three main types of heat transfer: conduction, convection, and radiation. Don't worry, we won't make you memorize any boring formulas or anything.
Conduction: when you touch a hot stove and feel like you're going to lose a few layers of skin.
Convection: when a nice breeze comes along and blows away the steam from your freshly brewed coffee.
Radiation: when you're trying to get a tan, but really you're just cooking your skin like a piece of bacon.
And that's it! Now go forth and transfer some heat!
