Wherein lies the power of asking for permission? A question for the ages. Or, rather, an excuse for the ages.
Step 1: Identify the Right Person
Find someone who will give you permission, even if they don't understand what you're asking for.
- Ask your boss for permission, but only if you're sure they'll say yes.
- Ask a lawyer for permission, but only if you're willing to pay them by the hour.
- Ask your mom for permission, but only if you're still living in the house.
Step 2: Justify Your Request
Explain why you need this, even if it's just to sound convincing.
"Trust me, it'll be fine. I'll make it work." - said no one ever.
Step 3: Accept the Conditions
Agree to whatever terms they throw at you, even if they make no sense.
"Fine, but don't come crying to me when it all falls apart."
