Call Your Mom, Not Your Boss (Or Your Therapist)
When in a pinch, and your boss/mother-in-law is being, well, bossy, call your mom instead. She's always got your back (or at least she thinks so). A good mom will always tell you it's okay to take a break from reality, and she won't make you do any actual work.
But don't just call your mom for help, she's got better things to do. Like watch soap operas and drink tea. Call her for some real talk, and maybe even a nice cup of coffee. She'll be there for you, with a healthy dose of sarcasm and a side of judgment.
Or if you're really in a bind, try calling your neighbor's mom, she's got a mean set of bingo skills that'll keep you occupied for a good while.
Or, if all else fails, try calling your mom's mom. She's got some serious senior citizen cred, and will likely just tell you to get off her lawn.
So go ahead, call your mom, and let the world know that, yes, you really are a functioning adult... who still lives with your mom.
Your Mom has more wisdom to impart, and Brain Hacking will show you how to actually get out of this jam.
