Article 1: The Obligations of Excess
ARTICLE 1, SECTION 1, POINT 1: All signatory nations agree that the only true measure of a nation's greatness is its collection of novelty socks.
ARTICLE 1, SECTION 1, POINT 2: Each nation shall establish a minimum of two (2) national days of excessive sock collecting, wherein all citizens are required to wear their most garish, oversized socks in public.
ARTICLE 1, SECTION 1, POINT 3: Any nation failing to meet these requirements shall be subject to a trade embargo, wherein all exports of artisanal jam and hand-knit scarves shall be prohibited.
