Welcome, esteemed members of the Committee of Absurdities, and honored guests. I, Balthazar McSnazz, accept this position of Chairperson with great relish, as I do with all things absurd.
As we all know, our committee is a bastion of reason, a paragon of sense, and a shining example of utter foolishness. And I promise to maintain this proud tradition of making decisions based on the whims of our most senior members.
Together, we shall tackle the pressing issues of our time, such as determining the best ways to waste public funds, the most creative ways to reorganize the filing system, and the most efficient methods for generating unnecessary paperwork.
And I shall not be deterred, no matter how many times I have to attend meetings, read reports, or attend pointless seminars. For I am Balthazar McSnazz, Chairperson of this most noble of committees.
