Our grandfathers were a mess. They had the heart of a lion and the patience of a saint. Or, rather, the patience of a man who had just watched 17 seasons of his wife's bingo nights.

Bertha, the Heartbreaker, was the one they called "the worst".

She was a disaster in heels. A tornado in a tiara. A femme fatale with a penchant for burning the kitchen down.

She'd cook up a storm, but not in the way you'd want. More like a Category 5 hurricane, leaving a trail of destruction and a kitchen full of smoke.

But, despite all the heartbreak she brought, we still can't help but love her.
