Appendix 4 - The Art of Slightly-Respecting Others' Boundaries
When working with others, it's essential to find a balance between being assertive and being a pushover. This appendix provides tips and tricks for navigating the fine line between being a control freak and being a doormat.
- 1. Learn to say "no" without justifying it
- Practice using the word "no" without explaining why
- It's okay to say no even when it's not a good reason
- 2. Slightly-Respecting Others' Time
- Don't interrupt them when they're talking
- Let them finish their thoughts, even if they're boring
- 3. Don't be a Time Lord
- Take turns, don't hog the mic
- Let others have the spotlight, even if it's not you
Coercion Levels:
